I was having a really high fatigue day so I decided to sit on the couch and watch a movie. Netflix reccommended that I watch this movie and I am really glad I did. This was a really well made movie with a great cast. I'm not sure if it ever made it to the theaters, if it did I didn't see it but would have loved to see it on a big screen.
Stake Land takes a totally different look at the vampire world. You won't see these vamps with glitter on their face, unless they've had the buffet at the strip club. These vampires are more like zombie vampires. They are the scariest vampires I have ever seen.
I have an obsession with apocalyptic movies. You will see some realistic things in this movie. You will see how some Christians will think the monsters are here to save them. But I'm not sure what is worse in this movie, the vamps or the Christians.
Kelly McGillis is in this movie. Don't expect the Top Gun look. But she still adds a great character to the movie. The people in this movie have one goal, and that's to make it to "New Eden", which is in Canada. This is apparently supposed to be a safe place. But there are rumors of cannibals worse than the vampires in this area.
I wish I had watched this at night and in the dark. It would have made the experience even better. I hope they make a sequel soon.
